Job Description


The Senior Accountant will accurately complete and reconcile all assigned clearing accounts, assist in the defining of best practice in the Lease accounting functional area and the month-end closing process when needed, and provide support for special projects.


  • Reconcile and analyze leased assets in Clearing Accounts; keeping the accounts current within established KPIs, creating appropriate transactions to capitalize or bill towards the client's asset while ensuring accuracy
  • Complete reconciliation of balance sheet accounts based on timelines established for each action outstanding items.
  • Analyze movement of balance sheet and revenue accounts in total and by client where appropriate.
  • Complete monthly journal entries accurately and timely to support the month-end close process
  • Report to Accounting Manager items identified in the reconciliations to reduce risk and look for opportunities for improvements
  • Help to ensure all accounting complies with the LP Accounting and Reporting Manual (ARM).
  • Participate in corporate projects as deemed necessary which may include: data review/analysis, systems testing, results reporting
  • Submit HelpDesk Tickets and ResponsePlan Tickets as necessary to resolve problems in the above areas of responsibility
  • Ability to work hours as necessary during peak times of the month and/or based on project deadlines
  • Encourage a team-work environment amongst co-workers and network with others outside of the Finance department.
  • Recommend and monitor processes for efficiencies and potential improvements
  • Other duties as required.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
  • CPA or CMA required
  • Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in account reconciliation along with proven track record of strong analytical skills.
  • JD Edwards and AS400 experience is a plus, SAP experience also ideal.
  • Experience of Lessor accounting a plus.
  • Skills Accounting/financial analysis and heavy research skills with proven successful track record.
  • Experience using Excel is required with Pivot tables and V-lookups.
