Job Description

This position plays a vital role to the LeasePlan Group in winning International business by signing contracts for multi-national corporations. International business is recognized as an important, expanding, and complex part of the LeasePlan Group objectives.   

The goal of the Multinational New Business Vice President is successfully selling financial and funding solutions, services and program solutions related to fleet management and mobility solutions for multi-national fleets spread over at least two LeasePlan countries.  

This will be realized by lead generation resulting in closing new multinational business opportunities alone or in conjunction with the knowledge of LeasePlan America’s sales and account management team members.

Essential Functions

  • Implement the sales strategy and objectives within the assigned area and translate these into a plan for successful and profitable growth
  • Identify and qualify multinational companies that fit within LeasePlan target market and provide input on the priority prospects in the region in cooperation with the Head of International Business
  • Develop a prospect strategy for the assigned area and collect references from existing relationships in other LeasePlan countries, resulting in a set direction for contacting and contracting of prospects
  • Contact prospects, prepare proposals for agreements and lead negotiations with the prospects, in cooperation with the local LeasePlan organization and within a qualified LeasePlan solution. This will result in new profitable clients for LeasePlan
  • Plan and ensure the implementation of new international agreements, and ensure proper hand over to account management. This will  result in services that are embedded in the client organization and account management is enabled to successfully take over the account
  • Build, maintain and expand a network of internal and external relations, and detect and realize new business opportunities. This will result in access to new prospects, insight in relevant developments and information, and increased market penetration
  • Manage professional relationships and communication with international business stream team members in all countries, leading to success in winning international clients
  • Provide regular updates (as requested) on all of activities to local management, and international business stream colleagues in order to determine action plans or other measures where required. This is normally done via Salesforce, phone technology and email.

  • Communicate with co-workers, team members, management, clients and others in courteous and professional manner
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
  • Other duties assigned to ensure overall departmental efficiency

  • Builds good business relationship with key prospects at decision making level and by taking responsibility for prospect issues across all relevant areas of the business, proactively agreeing to a joint agenda between LeasePlan and the prospect, and ensuring that actions and decisions are successfully implemented before handover to the account management team,
  • Identifies opportunities in business and exploits the potential profitability of new products, services and processes.  Understands how to work effectively together with other parts of the organization, and is capable of conceptual thinking and making independent decisions on challenging objectives
  • Succeeds and remains positive even in stressful situations by putting in extra effort when circumstances appear difficult, showing determination and tenacity, and pushing self and others to make improvements in productivity and efficiencies
  •  Manages a link between strategy, tactics and operations actions/objectives by describing the gap between the desired and present situation of the organization and how it might be bridged, listing priorities in operational plans based on strategic and tactical objectives before acting according to these priorities. 
  •  Systematically analyses complex problems and takes difficult decisions with attention to detail, by analyses, planning and integrating concepts into a structured and rational process, assembling ideas, issues and observations into clear and useful explanations and solutions, defining several solutions and weighing the value of each in moving the work of the business forward, and considering different viewpoints, options and preferences without bias. 
  •  Supports LeasePlan’s objectives by making choices and setting priorities to meet the defined needs and to fit with LeasePlan’s mission, and cooperating with other to achieve objectives in the larger organization
  • Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all business activities
  •  Must be a keen motivator of winning international business, with intellect and a natural flair for winning people on his or her side in achieving this.

Ideal Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in business, finance or economics. 
  • International business experience preferably decision making level
  • Excellent active listening skills;  the ability to probe and take findings to successfully bring new business on board
  • Proven 3 year experience in successfully selling financial or non-tangible service-driven programs
  • General understanding of finance, balance sheet and lease structures
  • Excellent organizational and professional communication skills (internal, external and by various methods of delivery)
  • Proven experience in thinking ‘outside the box’ and completing unsupervised work
  • Must be willing to travel at least 40% of the time
