Job Description

The Data Scientist is responsible for developing interactive dynamic dashboards allowing clients to review their data in real time through a LeasePlan web portal. The data scientist will need proficient knowledge of Data Warehousing methodologies and concepts, including dimensional modeling and reporting tools and measures creation. In addition, the data scientist should have an understanding of the fleet management industry in conjunction with client data and LPUS processes to maximize value to organization.

Essential Functions

  • Proficient knowledge of Data Warehousing methodologies and concepts, including dimensional modeling and reporting tools and measures creation.
  • Expertise in designing SSIS packages to import and transform data between databases and external data sources using various transformations
  • Create Parameterized Report, Dashboard Report, Linked report and Sub Reports in PowerBI
  • Act as the Azure Analysis service administrator with creating Analysis Services tabular models, scheduling data refreshes, and configuring data gateways.
  • Leverage high level understanding of relational database structure and ability to extract, manipulate, and present complex data and outputs
  • Independently research and identify industry best practices regarding analytical / technical solutions, processes, and methodologies to ensure LPUS is maximizing value and maintaining a competitive position in the area of analytics & client consultancy. 
  • Leverage understanding of the fleet management industry in conjunction with client data and LPUS processes to maximize value to organization 
  • Effectively communicate horizontally and vertically within the organization 
  • Presentation of complex topics, associated data, analysis methodologies, and solutions to internal and external clients (both written and verbal)
  • Leverage ability to develop robust, systemic, analytical solutions that will differentiate LPUS in area of strategic modeling and analytics
  • Independently research, embrace, and utilize leading technology, applications, and methods that can improve LPUS analytics and decision support solutions processes, models, and output
  • Leverage proficiency of existing tools required for creating business reviews including but not limited to, Excel, SQLServer, SSRS, SSAS, Microsoft BI
  • Leverage ability to reactively solve individual client solutions while leveraging lessons learned to design and implement proactive solutions that will benefit all clients
  • Provide a value added contribution for \u0022upstream\u0022 data initiatives including but not limited to, data integrity, VIN decoding, and TCO / Benchmarking
  • Serve as subject matter expert when interaction with database administrators is required to communicate best practices on how data needs to reside for effective analytics and decision support solutions
  • Leverage proficiency in dashboard design, development, implementation, and management / maintenance
  • Communicate with co-workers, team members, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Demonstrate reliable and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties assigned to ensure overall departmental efficiency.

Education: Bachelors degree required, preferably in related quantitative field (IT, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science)
Experience: 2+ years in Data Science/ Data Analysis
Skills:

  • Experience in Javascript / C# API coding for data token generation
  • Write WinScript code to administer data refreshes
  • Install and configure Enterprise gateway PowerBI service.
  • ETL - Extraction Transformation Loading, Operations Data Store concepts, data marts and OLAP-Online Analytical Processing technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in DAX and SQL
  • Tools:  SQL 2016, Visual Studio 2015, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, PowerBI, Microsoft Azure Active Directory and Analysis Services
