Job Description

Lead and manage the operations of the credit underwriting function, ensuring that credit risks are properly analyzed and mitigated in line with established risk appetite and group policies.  Manage the credit team to ensure that staff is fully trained and motivated.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and evaluate credit quality of proposed and renewed transactions for all LPUS divisions. Make recommendations to Local Credit Committee and process credit proposals in a timely manner.
  • Manage team of Credit Analysts to ensure all business lines are covered at all times, while provide coaching and mentoring
  • Facilitate and serve as member of the Local Credit Committee (along with VP Risk, CFO, and President/CEO)
  • Monitor credit quality of Fleet, Truck, and Small Fleet portfolios and provide regular reporting and recommendations to Local Credit Committee
  • Work closely with sales force and sales leadership to structure credit decisions to mitigate credit risk as required
  • Ensure compliance to corporate credit policies
  • Ensure credit underwriting systems are built and are aligned to properly assess risks across all company business lines
  • Change processes as required to improve operational efficiency of the credit function
  • Effectively manage timekeeping and payroll tools, conduct timely performance appraisals and follow up, insure all employees meet training and development goals, including any other management duties for all direct reports.
  • Communicate with co-workers, team members, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Demonstrate reliable and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties assigned to ensure overall departmental efficiency.

Education: Bachelor's Degree preferably in finance, economics, or accounting

Experience: Seven + years in B2B Credit Management.  Automotive credit experience strongly preferred.

Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills.  Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills.  Leasing industry knowledge a plus.  Supreme negotiation skills and high level of integrity expected
