Job Description


Key responsibilities are to validate and ensure accurate and timely information exists in the AS400 and General Ledger.  Provide accurate and timely reconciliations for all General Ledger accounts while accounting for all related costs and revenue.  Focus on root causes of reconciling items, keeping them current, and create processes to keep these items to a minimum. Close the books in a timely and well controlled environment.


  • Responsible for timely and accurate month-end and year end close to planned schedule.
  • Review all assigned general ledger reconciliations monthly and provide quarterly sign off as a minimum. Will have full responsibility for ensuring reconciliations are current and accurate.
  • Support staff in reconciling any outstanding items. -report to VP Corporate Controller items identified in the reconciliations to reduce risk and look for opportunities for improvements
  • Assist in preparation for and management of audits including, internal audits and all external audits.
  • Ensure all internal controls are relevant and in compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure all accounting complies with the LP Accounting and Reporting Manual (ARM).
  • Serve as an Accounting Finance Subject Matter Expert on projects throughout the organization, as needed.
  • Ensure that departmental processes are designed and implemented in a way to mitigate operational risks / losses including those related to payroll and payroll processes.
  • Effectively manage timekeeping and payroll tools, conduct timely performance appraisals and follow-up, insure all employees meet training and development goals, including any other management duties for all direct reports.

  • Education BS in Accounting and/or Finance
  • CPA or CMA required. MBA a plus.
  • Experience Minimum of 5+ years with management experience within an Accounting Department.
  • IFRS experience would be a plus.
  • SAP/system conversion experience ideally required.
  • Able to work with executive level management.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills required.
  • Excel proficiency a must (pivot tables / lookups etc.)
